Visions

Last semester, as hectic and humbling it may have been, was definitely one to remember. I learned so much professionally, but more so about who I was. I didn't have a thought into my career choice and I became to stress if I really was choosing the right path. Especially after missing out on the opportunity to become VP of the Marketing department in my organization, which would have equipped me with so much more experience.. but there was nothing I could do. Fortunately now, since the start of this spring semester, I started to delve into the the things I kept putting aside that I didn't have time for during my position. Now working at my university's business building, I have the chance to focus on my studies and start the journey of leveraging myself.

Recent Endeavors

I started applying to internships for the summer, despite the decrease of hiring.. but it's okay! I found other ways to revamp my LinkedIn, polish my resume and started programs to enhance my skillset!I completed a Forage simulation with Lululemon and learned so many critical aspects of the marketing process I was unaware of. I also applied to an externship within Paragon One and scored the role of a Content Creator and Digital Marketer! (It starts this Monday.. hehe a little nervous.) Since then I looked into what more organizations could offer me and found my way into AMA, the American Marketing Association. I applied as a Cougar Creative Intern, having the chance to market within a group of interns for companies within the Houston area! I have an interview on Wednesday, but after talking to some of the officers, it basically means you already are an intern and they just want to see where you fit best, so I'm super excited for that! Another endeavor this semester is within my Gen B class, where I chose to have a sponsor project where I present with a group in my class to a real-world company about our marketing strategies and plans we develop for them. And lastly, I'm starting a new Forage simulation with Accenture to learn the basic skills of data analysis and visualization, hence learning new skills I can use towards gaining steps closer to that Marketing Analyst dream of mine. :)

Little Joys

Enough of the business talk though, I recently went to a Rocket's game with my best friends and my boyfriend! I also started reading again, this new one's called "It Ends With Us"by Colleen Hoover.. I know people dislike her but she got me back into reading and to me that's more than enough. I also committed to my other club's (FSA) spirit team, which I was in last year, but this year brings new experiences and friends I'm excited to perform with! In another sense, I started journaling/scrapbooking, now being able to collect my thoughts and small joys in the form of creative writing and designing. OH ALSO, we moved again. My parents just don't know how to stay in one place, but it's okay because we're all happy and finally settled.

Any who that's just a little bit of what I've been up to and this semester is one to grow myself professionally but more mentally into the person I want to become.

I can't wait for what the future has in store for me!
